Robert R. Vayda - 89, a lifelong resident of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Thursday November 5th 2015. Robert was a proud US Navy Veteran of WWII where he received the Bronze Pelican and St. George Medals. He was an assistant Boy Scout Leader of troop 235 in Bayonne for over 40 years and a member of The Knights of Columbus. Robert was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Henry's Parish, a member of their choir and a teacher of CCD there also. Robert was the devoted husband to Florence (nee: Lago) Vayda and beloved father to Robert Gerard Vayda of Indiana. Robert was pre-deceased by his siblings Dorothy Petrovich and Edward Vayda and surviving him are his sister Edna Murdoch and brother Thomas Vayda and his wife Nancy, as well as a host of other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 pm and again from 7-9 pm at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday November 9th beginning at 10:45 am at St. Henry's Church, 82 W. 29th St. in Bayonne with all welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:45 am. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City.
