Roger Douglas Melin – of Bayonne passed away peacefully on Friday July 7th 2017, he was 71 years old. Born in Jersey City, Roger served his country proudly in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict where he received a Marksman Medal and Purple Heart among other accolades. He was the devoted husband to the late Elsa (nee: del Pilar Gonzalez), the loving father to Gregory Melin and his wife Mary (nee: Campbell) and the beloved grandfather to Connor Melin. Surviving Roger are his brother in-law Jaime Gonzalez and his wife Elizabeth and nephews Jaime Jr. and Luis Gonzalez as well as a host of other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 12th from 5-8 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne with a prayer service to be held during the visit.   Roger will be buried with full Military Honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ on Thursday July 13th at a time to be determined.
