Rosario "Roy" Finistrella – of Bayonne passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday August 8, 2016, he was 85 years old. Born in Riposto Sicily, Italy, Rosario immigrated to the United States in 1961 aboard "The Constitution" and soon after married Concetta LaMacchia, who would become his devoted wife and love of his life until she passed in 2010. Rosario loved spending his spare time at Liberty State Park in Jersey City and at the beach in Ocean City, MD. He was an avid ballroom dancer, an expert homemade winemaker, an usher at St. Mary's Parish in Bayonne, a member of The Sons of Italy and a member of The Hudson County Democratic Committee. Rosario was the loving father to Joseph and his wife Mariann, Anthony, Grace Truchan and Carmela McMahon and her husband Patrick and was beloved grandfather to Amie McMahon, Marisa, Mathew & Joseph Finistrella Jr. and to Larissa and Amanda Truchan. Rosario was pre-deceased by his sisters Rosa Sgamelloni & Marisa Bussolino and is survived by his brother Nino Finistrella and wife Lella and sisters Fina Giordano & Graziella Bari and husband Alberto, as well as a host of other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday August 12th from 4-9 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 13th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 326 Avenue C (at 16th St.) in Bayonne with everyone welcome to gather at the funeral home starting at 9:30 AM.
