Rose Marie Blaney (née Gilson), a lifelong resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert James Blaney, the cherished daughter of the late Philomena (Salerno) Gilson and John Francis Gilson, and the loving sister of Thomas Gilson.                                             

Rose was a devoted mother to Jennifer Blaney and Robert “Bobby” Blaney and his wife Stephanie Lynn Blaney, and a proud grandmother to Tatyanna Aponte Hernandez and her husband Justin Hernandez Aponte, Gabrielle Gonzalez, and Noah Blaney.                             

A faithful parishioner of St. Henry’s Church, she was known for her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith. She had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and found joy in her family and a good cup of coffee.         

She faced her illness with grace and is now at peace. 

Her love, faith, and warmth will live on in all who knew her.

A Memorial Mass with her Cremains present will be offered for Rose Marie on Friday April 10th at 10:45am at St. Henry's Church, Bayonne.
