March 15, 1925 – April 21, 2017
Rose Marie Lindberg (nee: Volin) – of Bayonne, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday April 21st 2017, she was 92. Born in Schenectady NY, Rose Marie was a member of The National Honors Society in High School then attended The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY, later joining the USO where she toured overseas doing shows during WWII. She attended Barnard and Rutgers University and became very active in the community affairs in The City of Paterson NJ and with the YMCA in Bayonne, where she served on the board of directors for 14 years. Rose Marie worked many other jobs during her life, eventually overseeing the operations of the family's Bergen Point Brass Foundry Inc. here in Bayonne. She was also a communicant of the Antiochian Orthodox Church. Rose Marie was the loving wife to the late Abraham Van Mitchell and later to the late Albert Lindberg Jr. She was the devoted mother to Valerie, Van, Robin Mitchell-Haddad and her husband Mark, the late James Edward Mitchell and her "adoptive" son Rufus Brown. Rose Marie was also the beloved grandmother to Jordan & Jacob Haddad, Nathaniel, Michael & Kaylee Mitchell and to Nicole Butler, as well as being the cherished great grandmother to Izarra, Carter, Cecelia, Michael James and Tiffany. A visitation and prayer service for Rose Marie will be held on Saturday April 29th from 2-6 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne, NJ. Rose Marie will then be interred with her late husband Albert on Monday May 1st at 11AM at St. Peter's Cemetery in Saratoga Springs, NY. In lieu of any flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rose Marie's memory to either The National Conference for Community & Justice or to The St. George Antiochian Church, 237 Long Hill Road, Little Falls, NY 07424.
