Sila Maria Rojas (nee: Garcia) – of Bayonne passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Friday November 25 th 2022, she was 91. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, Sila was a professional basketball player in her home country and the first female basketball coach of the men's basketball team in Colombia. Sila was the devoted wife of the late Raul Antonio Rojas, the beloved mother to Orietta Rojas and Annette Rojas and was the cherished grandmother to Madisyn D'Ana James. Sila is survived by her siblings Lidy Nancy Alicea, Luis Leopoldo Garcia-Perez & Glodualdo Quinto Garcia–Perez; her niece & god-daughter Lidy Rivera, niece & nephew Melissa Rivera & William Frederick Rivera III, and a whole host of other loving family members and dear friends both here and in South America. A visitation for Sila will be held on Tuesday November 29 th from 5-7PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 851 Kennedy Blvd. (at 33 rd St.) in Bayonne with a prayer service to be celebrated towards the end of visitation. A private cremation will follow.
