RUSSO, Theresa A. (nee: Versacio ) 92, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, NJ passed into heaven peacefully on Wednesday September 11th, with her loving family gathered by her side. Theresa was born on March 10,1927 in Jersey City, NJ, the loving daughter of the late Mary and Theodore Versacio . She married Michael Russo on November 17, 1946 at Holy Rosary Church in Jersey City, NJ.

Theresa worked for the Jersey City Board of Education as a Teacher Aide of the Handicapped. Theresa loved working with the autistic children at the Gerard J. Dynes Regional Day School where she taught the children how to cook, bake, clean, sew and do laundry, until the age of 80 when she retired.

Throughout Theresa's life she always enjoyed cooking, baking and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband Michael, her sister's Frances Lavarato and Rose Lomolino and her brothers Anthony and Frank Versacio . Theresa is survived by her dear sister's Josephine, Elizabeth, Marie, Stella, Annie, Carmela, and her brother Theodore. Theresa was a devoted mother to Annette and her husband Leo, Michael and his wife Winifred and Joseph and his companion Robert. Cherished grandmother to Michele and her spouse Carole, Gina Canzano, Lisa and her husband Chad and Danielle. Great grandmother to Christian and Geanna . Theresa will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday September 14th from 5:00 to 9:00pm and on Sunday September 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00pm, at the Migliaccio Funeral Home 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd), Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday September 16th at 10:30am at Holy Rosary Church, 344 6th Street, Jersey City. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington. Family and friends are welcomed to the funeral home on Monday beginning at 9:30am prior to mass.
