Urciuoli, Thomas J. - a life long resident of Bayonne, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday February 18th, he was 77. A local sports enthusiast and Korean War Veteran, Thomas was known for officiating at many Bayonne sporting events and was responsible for starting the Holy Family Soccer Program. He was an active member of The B.Y.S.A, The Bayonne Mermaids, The Hudson United Soccer League, The S.C.O.A. where he was named "Man of The Year for 2011" as well as several divisions of The Catholic War Veterans. Thomas was also well known for his class at The Bayonne Adult School dealing with Aliens and Extraterrestrials as well as being an amateur artist. He was the devoted husband of Joan (nee: Spiezio) and loving father to Dineen Olivera and her husband Juan and Elizabeth Ruh and her husband Gary. He was also the beloved grandfather of Christopher, Alexa, Ethan, Justin, Ella, Daniel and Jason. Thomas is survived by his brothers Peter and his wife Pat and John and his wife Carol Lee and his brother in law Freddy as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Nicoletta (nee: LaConti) as well as his sister Theresa LaPilusa and his grandchildren Elizabeth and Thomas. Visitation will be held tomorrow Wednesday February 22nd from 7-9 PM and again on Thursday February 23rd from 5-9 PM at Migliaccio Funeral Home, 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd St.) in Bayonne. A funeral mass will be held on Friday February 24th at 9:30 AM at St. Henry's Church, 645 Avenue C in Bayonne with a burial ceremony to follow. In lieu of any flowers the family asks that donations be made in Thomas' memory to The North Shore Animal League.
