Obituary

Todd Hiles, age 44, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21, 2021. He was born October 1, 1976 in Bayonne, New Jersey to Deborah Heaney and the late Jimmy Zaremski. He was raised by his loving mother and father Joseph W. Heaney Jr. and married his childhood sweetheart Suzannah (Ciano) Hiles in 2008.

Todd was an Engineer for the Bayonne Board of Education – Henry Harris School. He was a diehard fan of the Oakland Raiders and New York Yankees and he had the gentlest soul with the most contagious smile. Todd was kind and compassionate with a tremendous personality that would make anybody around him laugh. He loved everything sweet, and could finish a Friendly's ice cream cake, boxes of pop-ems and gallon of chocolate milk in one sitting.  He was a dedicated husband and family man first and foremost and he treasured his wife and embraced every moment with her.

His life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Todd is survived by his loving wife Suzannah (Ciano) Hiles, his parents Joseph and Deborah Heaney, his little sisters Tara and Tina Heaney, his grandmothers "mum-mums" Viola Tusa and Louise Heaney, his uncle and best friend, Cliff Tusa, his dog daughter Bailey Girl, his loving in-laws, niece, nephew, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. All of these he loved and touched deeply. Todd was pre-deceased by his father Jimmy Zaremski, his grandfathers; Charlie Tusa, Todd Zaremski and Joseph Heaney Sr., his paternal grandmother Catherine "Pat" Zaremski, his uncle Tony Tusa, and his dog sons Buddy and Amstel Hiles.
