POLERA SR., Nicholas, 85 of Monroe, formerly of Bayonne, passed away peacefully on Monday June 17th at the Summer Hills Nursing Home in Old Bridge, NJ. Nicholas worked as a Hiring Agent for the Longshoreman Union 1588 in Bayonne for many years before retiring. Nicholas also proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a beloved husband to the late Jane (nee:Canavan), a loving father to Nicholas Jr., James, Robert, and to Maria Czuba and her husband Jeffrey. A cherished grandfather to James, Christina, Jessica, Jennifer, Nicholas III, Madison, Casey, Christopher, Kelsie and Ryan. A great grandfather to Riley, Caleb, Aiden, Nicholas IV, Vinny, Ava, Isla, Eloise, Declan and Teagan. A dear father in law to Inez Polera, Michele Polera, and Joanne Polera. Nicholas was predeceased by his parents Dominick and Maria (nee:Puia) Polera and his siblings Mary, Joseph, Margaret, Dominick, Rosie and Lucy
Visitation will be held on Monday June 24th from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Migliaccio Funeral, 851 Kennedy Blvd (at 33rd St.), Bayonne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday June 26th at 10:00am At Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew's Church, Bayonne. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Family and friends are welcomed to the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 9:00am prior to mass. In lieu of flowers donations in Nicholas's memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, 1347 Perrineville Road, Monroe Township, NJ. 08831. Envelopes provided at the funeral home.
